Root Canal treatment process – Dubai

A Root Canal is a dental procedure that involves taking out the pulp, which is the soft part in the middle of the tooth. Nerves, connective tissue, and blood vessels make up the pulp, which helps the tooth grow.

Most of the time, a root canal will be done while you are under local anaesthesia by a general dentist or endodontist.

A root canal is done when the pulp, which is the soft part inside of a tooth, is hurt, inflamed, or infected.

Even if the pulp is dead, the crown of the tooth (the part you can see above your gums) can stay whole. The best way to keep the tooth’s structure is to get rid of damaged or infected pulp.

How is a root canal performed?

The dentist clinic is where a root canal is done. When you arrive for your appointment, a technician will show you to a treatment room, help you get comfortable in a chair, and put a bib around your neck to keep your clothes from getting dirty.

Step 1: Anesthetic

The dentist will put a small amount of medicine that makes you feel numb on the gum near the hurt tooth. Once it has worked, a local anaesthetic will be injected into your gums. You might feel a sharp pinch or a burning, but it won’t last long.

Even though you’ll be awake during the procedure, you won’t feel any pain because of the anaesthetic.

Step 2: Removing the pulp

When your tooth is numb, the endodontist or regular dentist will make a small hole in the top of it. Once the infected or damaged pulp is found, the specialist will use special tools called files to carefully remove it. They will be very careful to clean out all of the paths in your teeth.

Step 3: Antibiotics

Once the pulp has been taken out, the dentist may put a topical antibiotic on the area to make sure the infection is gone and to keep it from coming back. Once the canals have been cleaned and sanitised, the dentist will fill and seal the tooth with a sealer paste and gutta-percha, which is like rubber. They may also give you antibiotics to take by mouth.

Step 4: Temporary filling

At the end of the process, the dentist will use a soft, temporary material to fill the small hole at the top of the tooth. This sealant keeps saliva from getting into the canals and hurting them.

What happens after a root canal?

A root canal is a procedure that is used to fix something. Most people who have root canal can enjoy the benefits for the rest of their lives. Still, the results will only last as long as you take care of your teeth.

Just like the rest of your teeth, your restored tooth needs to be brushed and flossed every day.
